The elders and the youth of this generation play pivotal roles in the rebalancing of our Mother Earth.
HONOR FIJI provides an opportunity for individuals to reconnect with our human origins, to rekindle our collective past and memories of living in harmony with the natural world.

HONOR FIJI JOURNEY

Honor Fiji is a transformational journey in honor of the great Cultural Legacy of Fiji while promoting stewardship of the land and water. A strong focus is on the youth, empowering them as keepers of their traditions, to participate in the movement for sustainability and positive change in the global arena, and to reach their highest potential.

In the Spirit of Peace and Friendship, both Fiji and international youth participants will receive stewardship training and dedicate themselves to service for Fiji and our Oceans aboard the AlVEI.
Out of Nelson, Zealand, the Alvei, a Main T’ gallant Schooner, is a non-profit co-operative under the expertise of Captain Evan Logan.
The Alvei has committed to the HONOR FIJI JOURNEY for the 2012 sailing season, June, July, and August. Working with experienced crew, the Alvei, also offers the opportunity to learn the traditional arts of a sailor.

Honor Fiji, is a project of the Econesian Society.

Filming

HONOR FIJI, A MAI TV PRODUCTION It is quite possible that the voyage and the experiences of the youth will be made into a TV documentary series with MAI TV for the duration of the journey.

This is an opportunity for young people, particularly Fijian youth, to have a voice in regards to environmental/marine issues and inspire and empower their peers to step up and take action in their communities and for their planet.

The TV show will be both educational and adventurous, exploring current ocean issues in various island and offshore locations in the Yasawas, Taveuni, northeast coast of Vana Levu.

All participants on board would also be a part of the documentary.

The sail to Vanuatu will take 4 to 10 days depending on the wind.

The following 7 weeks in Vanuatu we will visit the islands of Aneytioum, Tanna, Erromango, Efate, Ambrym and Espiritu Santo.

Mid October we plan to begin the return voyage to New Zealand.
